Marrion E. Hollars, 87, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, May 17, 2024, at a Kansas City, Missouri, care facility. He was born May 1, 1937, in Horton, Kansas, son of Etta and Louis Hollars. Marrion graduated from Troy, Kansas, High School, class of 1955. He was the long time Owner/ Operator of Hairports Hair Salon and also Hollars Realty. Marrion enjoyed spending his time gardening, fishing, and hunting. He was an animal lover, especially dogs and cats.

Marrion was preceded in death by wife, Patricia (Stains) Hollars; his parents; brother, Louis Hollars Jr.; sisters, Opal (Jesse) Campbell, Louise (Robert) McGinnes, Lucille Guyer; and brother-in-law, Jesse Johnson.

Survivors include sons, Marlan (Pam) Hollars, of Smithville, Missouri, Marc (Debbie) Hollars, of St. Joseph, and Matt Hollars, of St Joseph; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert “Bob” Hollars; sisters, Marie Johnson and Edna Chavez; and sister-in-law, Joyce Hollars.

Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Rupp Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday. Interment will follow at the Mount Olivet Cemetery. Memorials are requested to Disabled American Veterans or Friends of the Animal Shelter.
