MARYVILLE, Mo. – Sheila Ann Luke, 65, of Maryville, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at the KU Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas.

Sheila was born in Maryville on May 8, 1959. Her parents were Richard “Dick” and Rose Mary (Wilmes) Luke. She lived all her life in the area.

She graduated from Maryville High School and attended Northwest Missouri State University. Sheila had worked over 40 years at St. Francis and was currently working at the Clarinda Regional Hospital.

Sheila was a member and attended St. Gregory’s Barbarigo Catholic Church, Maryville. She was a member of the Maryville Country Club and enjoyed golf very much. She had loved her years as a member of the Citizens State Bankster championship softball team. She also liked to read and was an avid quilter.

Her father, Dick Luke, preceded her in death, as well as her sister, Joyce Luke, and her brother-in-law, Oak Mayes.

She leaves behind her children, Clinton Degase, Raytown, Missouri, Bryan Degase, Boulder, Colorado, and Kristen Holaday, Barnard, Missouri; her siblings, Rick Luke, Hopkins, Missouri, Kirby Luke, St. Louis, Missouri, Michael Luke, Barnard, Missouri, Sharon Mayes, Bolckow, Missouri, and Marilyn Luke, Savannah, Missouri; six grandchildren, Mason, Aiden, Deacon, and Ethan Holaday, and Charlotte and Nora Degase; and many nieces and nephews.

Sheila has been cremated under the care of the Bram Funeral Home, Maryville.

The family will receive friends at the Bram Funeral Home, on Monday, June 3, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at St. Gregory’s Barbarigo Catholic Church, Maryville. The burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Maryville.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Joyce Luke Memorial Fund at NWMSU, or the Maryville Elks Lodge #760, building fund. As published in the St. Joseph News-Press.
