Gene Sypolt, 74, St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2024.

He was born Aug. 17, 1949, to Alva Sypolt and Ethyl “Mignon” (Martin) in Urbana, Missouri.

He worked with Ken Keith Trucking and Butler for 15 years.

Gene loved spending time with his kids and grandkids, he enjoyed traveling and reading a good western book or watching movies.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jeromy Bloss; and siblings, Ivan Sypolt, Sam Miller, and Sheila Crum.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Debbie (Painter) Sypolt; daughter, Shannon Holland; siblings, Kathy Douglas, Gwen Landis, Roy and Ronnie Miller, and Jimmie Dick; six grandkids; and one great-grandchild.
